Privacy policy

ForkFam is a private food map for your family. This policy explains what we store and who can see it, in plain words.
What we collect
Your email address (to sign you in), the display names and avatars you choose for family members, and the content your family creates: places, visits, ratings, notes, tags, taste-quiz answers, and photos.
Location. Your device's location is used to center the map and to find nearby spots. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. The one exception is the home city the family owner sets: that place name and its coordinates are saved to the family, so the map knows where to open. Clear the home city to remove it.
Notifications. If you allow notifications in the iOS app, we store the device token Apple issues so we can send them. Turn notifications off in Settings and the tokens are deleted.
Safety reports. If you report content or block a family, we keep a record of the report and the block so we can act on it and keep it from happening again.
Who can see it
Only your family, by default. Photos are kept in private storage and served through expiring links. Two things are shareable, and both are opt-in: share lists (only the spots you pick) and the public family profile (a switch only the family owner can turn on, showing recent eats and counts, and never photos, your kids' profiles, or private notes).
Kids
Kid profiles are just a name and an avatar icon a parent creates. Kids have no accounts, no email, and no login. Parents enter kid ratings on their behalf.
Services we rely on
Supabase hosts our database, authentication, and photo storage. Vercel hosts the app. Google Maps powers the map and place search (their privacy policy applies to map usage). Expo delivers push notifications and Resend sends account emails, like your welcome note and password alerts. We don't run ads, don't use third-party analytics, and never sell your data.
Deleting your data
Delete your account any time in Settings. If you're the last adult in the family, the entire map goes with you, photos included. Prefer a human? Email support@forkfam.com and we'll do it for you.
